Getting the ball rolling with our Business of Indie event is the return of a previous speaker, Jessica Saunders of Salix Games. This time, she's joined by independant developer Tea Clipper Games' director, Ed Reid.
Indies need to stick together, with this open panel lets talk about what information we have learnt over the years and share what most vital lessons we have learnt covering three of the most important parts of development. Pitching, budgeting and releasing.
Director, Salix Games
Jessica is the founder of Salix Games, the company behind Dance of Death: Du Lac and Fey. Previously she has worked as a sound designer on titles such as Fable, Kinect Sports and Batman: Arkham Knight, her achievements for which were recognised in 2015 when she won a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit award.
Director, Tea Clipper Games
Ed is Director of independent game developer Tea Clipper Games, formed in 2014 with the remit of helping to tell new stories from different voices. Fascinated in the structures of games, from the interacting systems that form them, to the people that play them and the teams that make them, Ed spends much of his time looking at the ways in which systems relate to each other and the ways in which structures either hinder or help the empowerment of individuals.
