Showcase: Escapist Games

Wednesday, April 27, 2016 2:20:30 PM

We're excited to announce Escapist Games will be joining the showcase at our Guildford event on 12th May.

Escapist Games Ltd was founded in 2008 by a couple of ex-Electronic Arts AAA console game developers to make games and apps for the then newly emerging direct-to-consumer app stores. Having created both games and educational apps, our flag-ship title is - Star Chart - the hit astronomy and stargazing app downloaded by well over 20 million people world-wide.

Key staff at Escapist Games include Chris Walley, San Shepherd & Olly Read veterans of Electronic Arts where they have collectively worked on the following franchises: Need For Speed, Burnout, Black, NBA Street, SSX, Harry Potter & Battlefield.

Showcasing: Star Chart on the Oculus Rift

The pre-release virtual reality version of our 20 million user strong Star Chart app.

Star Chart is available on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Gear VR, Google Glass, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and many more platforms.

Our intention when building Star Chart for virtual reality is to make the educational exploration of the visible universe as fun, entertaining, immersive, effortless and accessible as possible. Bringing Star Chart to the ultimate immersive platform - virtual reality - has taken space exploration to a whole new level. Gear VR users now have access - from the comfort of their home - to an experience more compelling than that of a multimillion dollar planetarium.

Star Chart is the ultimate Virtual Reality experience:

Explore the Solar System in a profound, beautiful and accurate realtime simulation. From the Sun to the smallest moons of Saturn and out to the farthest reaches of Pluto. Gaze down and marvel at our Solar System from above, or look up in wonder at the rings of Saturn. Feel the awe of floating in space around worlds no human has yet set foot on. Understand how the constellations of our night sky are made up of distant stars in both space and time. Embrace the inhuman distances of our solar system and the inordinate scale of our universe.
